Prompt 64: Tolerance

Thanks to Gina of Kilauea Poetry for this week's prompt, tolerance. Thanks to her also for the photo above and the poem below.

"Against Such Things"...

Virtue n.) Specifically, moral excellence; integrity of character; purity of soul; performance of duty...

T olerance..from the top of the sea saw I hear you call- your hair in mid air looking down on me-

O h tolerance, I say squinting.. is no virtue at all.. just patience, watered down ya see..

L evel..isn't as lovely sounding- but, it's not a one way street..good for me.. oh but not for you-

E asy now, while I'm hopping..my knees are bent- but I'll be hoping.. you'll be hearing me too &

R emember, don't ya run out in the street...and well

A lign..just happens to come to mind.. cause all my thoughts get crossed-

N ow a plumb line's best for tracking, as the wind could blow anywhere

C ause we..we won't have a foundation..like the board that goes under me & you?

E asier if it's a two way street..and remember, don't ya take candy from strangers-

But the fruit of the Spirit is-
love,
joy,
peace,
patience,
kindness,
goodness,
faithfulness,
gentleness,
self-control; against such things there is no law -Ga 5: 22

  2. Thank you, Regina. This is nice, you worked hard on it. Living might should be give and take.
But remember that tolerance isn't listed as one of the fruits in Galations 5 even though it is close to most of them, especially patience, kindness, and goodness.

I had fun with your prompt but didn't do a very serious work this time. Thank you.

  4. Tolerance is mentioned in Ga 5:22-23

But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, long-suffering...

    Endurance is tolerance.

On the other hand, sclerotic pedantry is not.

  6. Hey thanks to you all..ha, Jim, I didn't work that hard...you know tolerance I'm afraid it's not what most are referring to? and kitehorse.. all semantics aside, what I'm speaking of has more to do with a view towards the future.. so you could say this was my way of evening up the score a little) (the intolerance of the black & the white)- what patience in light of Gal. really speaks of and is after (together- producing an outcome) and it was delighful-
