Prompt 25: Homecoming

Thanks to Geraldine at My Poetic Path for this week's prompt, homecoming, and for the image and short story excerpt below.

The hot, stifling air. A far-reaching, almost eerie silence.

Sky, brilliantly blue; generously dotted with billowy "mashed potato" clouds. Replicas and visions from younger, happier days.

All of these had remained.

Helping to sustain him through the long, lost days. He had known only to well, the many faces of hunger and thirst. The nights, hardest of all to bear.

  7. Hi,

Just so you know - the prompts on the calendar are in different order than the ones on the list. Alas, I looked at the calendar for Sunday and did the wrong prompt. Didn't quite have the spirit to do a second one so I'm skipping again this week.
