Prompt 209: Muse

I Rhyme Without Reason blogger Leo's prompt, muse, is up this week. Here is his poem:

What has befallen me?
I continue to struggle
to put heart on paper
when its rivers, flooding
break dams and flow
in unconquerable anger
in unquenchable thirst
become one with me
where the soul lives
Muse, fairest maiden
be kind to my longing
for my words do feel
dead, unseen by all
like the stillborn child
till you, lady of magic
get them alive again
and with them, me
for, I, do live in words

Prompt 208: Elemental

Pam of Amputated Moon brings us elemental as this week's prompt. Thanks, Pam, for the image and poem.

Elemental.jpg

Here is the Wind

here is the wind
rising from nothing
no birthplace or home
a nomad

alas—I cry
as it gathers its breath
the world and I
wait

and it pushes down
from the mountain top
through canyons and valleys
sounding its warning

cry out—I say
tell me where you go
I see trees fall
and waters part

still it rushes on
scouring brick
and stone
with a secret

held within
until the wind and I
join and rising
going nowhere

going somewhere
finding nothing
finding everything
stripped down

laid open
raw---
elemental

Prompt 206: Sour Grapes

Thanks to Leo of I Rhyme Without Reason for the prompt sour grapes and this poem:

if
life
felt lost
all hopes gone
and each dream afar
do we just throw in the towel?
and live with regrets
that each dream
seen was
sour
grapes
